A pioneer of Lisbon’s electronic music movement in the 1990s, To Ricciardi has been at the forefront of shaping Portugal’s underground sound. His journey began with early releases on Tribal America and Kaos, marking his presence in the global house and electronic scene.
After completing his audio engineering studies at Kingston University in London, he founded Som de Lisboa in 1991—a creative hub that became instrumental in Lisbon’s evolving music landscape. As a producer and DJ, To Ricciardi’s impact extended beyond Portugal, leading him to launch Nylon Discographic’s and Lupeca in 1999, pushing the boundaries of Portuguese electronic music.
Throughout his career, he has released numerous albums and projects under aliases such as Loopless, Spaceboys, Type, Shelter Av., Cyz, Shrimp, and Vadú, collaborating with artists like Swag, Afro-Mystics, Quantic, and Howie B. Under the Shelter Av. and Erotic Sardines projects, alongside Miguel Guia, he explored a range of electronic expressions, producing original tracks and remixes.
As To Ricciardi, he has worked with Cool Hipnoise, Cyz, Spaceboys, Lucky Stereo, Balla, Coldfinger, and No Data, while also remixing tracks for Tosca, Madredeus, António Variações, Red Hot & Lisbon, Balla, Coldfinger, and Mirror People.
In 2018, he launched his own imprint, SURURU RECORDS, further cementing his influence in the electronic scene. His original works and remixes have been featured on respected labels such as SURURU RECORDS, Studio K7, G-Stone, Om Records, and Mole Listening Pearls.
