Rooted in the landscapes of Salt Spring Island, BC, Safiya Labelle is a singer-songwriter, violinist and producer whose music lives somewhere between West Coast folk and the subtle pull of electronic sound. Soulful vocals, intricate lyrics and layers of strings shape songs that feel intimate, organic and deeply personal.
Her debut album, Shanti, was also her first self-produced record, bringing together years of travel, music and activism into a collection of multi-instrumental songs. Through it all runs a simple intention: to make music that offers a place to feel, reflect and find a little refuge when the world gets loud.
