Following his debut on WAYU Records, To Ricciardi returns with his second release, La Paz EP, a deeply moving musical statement about unity, nature, and the power of collaboration. In a world where conflict is ever-present, this EP serves as a reminder that we all share the same planet and must strive for peace and balance.
At the heart of the release is Cinco, featuring the enchanting vocals of Nancy Vieira, one of the most captivating voices from Cabo Verde and a musical heir to the legacy of Cesária Évora. Sung in Crioulo, Cinco pays tribute to the five elements, reflecting on our connection to nature. The song also features Cachupa Psicadélica on vocals, Rui from Rumar on guitar, and Dario (Tempura Boy) on bass, enriching its organic and soulful essence.
Salto Alto and La Paz showcase further collaborations, with Mariana Segura Rodriguez lending her voice to these immersive compositions. Salto Alto began as a lo-fi downtempo percussive piece, evolving into a hypnotic and introspective journey, while La Paz embodies the EP’s core message—a call for harmony in an ever-divided world.
To further expand the sonic journey of the La Paz EP, we’ve invited three incredible artists to reinterpret the music in their own style. Nhii, J.Pool, and Turu Anasi each bring their signature touch, reimagining the originals through deep, hypnotic, and organic soundscapes. Their remixes add new textures and emotions, making this release not just a statement—but a journey through rhythm and soul.
More than just music, La Paz EP is a moment of reflection, a testament to collaboration, and a call for unity in sound and spirit. Let the music speak.
Let’s call for Peace!
